JMP Hydroforming Has AS9100C Certified, ISO 9001:2008

Exacting quality standards are not optional for our customers who make aircraft engines and land-based turbines for power generation. So at Jones Metal Products Company, we commit daily to maintain our status as an AS9100C certified company.

This certification, along with our ISO 9001:2008 certification in quality management processes, tells customers that we are prepared and qualified to consistently produce parts that conform to the strict regulatory requirements and quality standards they are required to adhere to.

Our ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C certified standing also assures our customers of our dedication to maintaining customer satisfaction through continual improvement processes in everything we do.

Our certification to International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001:2008) standards assures customers that our hydroforming processes produce parts that are reliable and safe, matching the exacting standards necessary for building engines and other aircraft systems on which lives depend.

To maintain our AS9100C certified standing, Jones Metal Products uses a variety of tools to ensure that the geometric characteristics of our hydroformed parts meet the tolerances required by our aerospace customers. These tools include an automated coordinate measuring machine (CMM), FARO laser scanner, FARO Gage, calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth gages, and height gages.

We also maintain quality management systems to monitor, identify and correct problems when they do arise.

Hydroforming is the ideal fabrication process for aerospace parts due to its ability to form malleable exotic alloys into structurally strong, complex shapes with minimal surface imperfections. Metals that we commonly use in hydroformed aerospace parts include aluminum alloys, stainless steel, nickel alloys and titanium. Intakes and exhaust system components of jet engines, are an example of the complex parts that can be made through hydroforming by Jones Metal Products.

We also offer in-house a process that is complementary to hydroforming – NADCAP-approved heat treating. This service facilitates annealing that is a critical part of forming complex parts such as intakes and exhaust components accurately and efficiently.

Another advantage of hydroforming is that it forms parts one by one. This allows for close inspection to make certain each part meets the customer’s requirements and follows internal procedures as required for conformance to AS9100C standard.
